Local Bookshops

79-83 High St, Dumfries DG1 1BN, UK – 01387 254288

Lovely Waterstones. A relatively small store but still loads of choice. Had exactly the book I wanted for planning my next holiday. Pleasant staff chatting with customers, alround good experience.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Desperately in need of an efficient air conditioning system.

Kings Coffee and Books

12 Queensberry St, Dumfries DG1 1EX, UK – 01387 254444

I love an independant coffee shop. Nice ambience and a very tasty piece of banana bread. Only one quibble. If you can drink your coffee/hot chocolate straight down when you get it, it was never hot enough in the first place. That's just my opinion, otherwise nice place.

I often pop into Kings for a soft drink when coming into town. Today I had a cold latte which was nicely presented and very refreshing on this hot day! Staff are always friendly and approachable. Thanks guys!

Fantastic range of books. Fiction, non fiction, and informative. As well as stationary products, photographic materials and a huge range of maps. Best of all though is their enormous range of magazines including general interest and many dealing with hobbies/niche areas.

I love buy stuff for office. Its my favourite shop
