Great tasting food freshly made. Good offers on lunchtime meals and great themed nights. Never had a bad meal there and their Christmas party nights are great. Always polite waiting staff, I've never felt rushed or pushed along.
First ate here a few years ago on a visit to Dumfries and went again last week. Was a little disappointed from what I remember from the first time. Food was good but nothing special. Dessert was a strawberry and kiwi pavlova but was actually just a meringue nest filled with fruit and cream. A little expensive for what we had. On another note, nothing to do with the food but the chair covers looked awful, they were terribly creased and looked a bit untidy instead of elegant

Primo Piano was not difficult to find on Queensberry Street. Follow your nose and you will find it; the smells alone convinced me and the group that I was with that we are at the right place. The decor was clean, very homey, but not frilly in the least. Comfortable, I would say, a wonderful melding of Italy and Scotland. I decided to have the Pollo Piano, this was my first time visiting and I was playing it safe. This turned out to be a delicious chicken dish with an unknown combination of cheeses, pasta, and vegetables. My reaction, on first bite, was to say "Oh my god, this is way too authentic to be in Scotland!" I have spent several months in Italy and strangely I can now say that one of my favorite Italian meals of all time came from Scotland. I am not certain who created the menu or who cooked this meal, but they are without a doubt authentically Italian. So many nuances to this meal were outstanding, layer upon layer of flavor that I would never expect from what I thought was a simple chicken dish. On this trip I was leading a group of study abroad students from the US, 10 in total, and they were each pleased and impressed with their meals. Upon returning to the states we have relived many stories about the food in Scotland, we all enjoyed the haggis, and we all look forward to returning, but, Primo Piano stands out as everyone’s favorite meal. I can’t remember the exact price, maybe 12 or 14 pounds, not overpriced, very much worth the money. I/we look forward to returning on our next trip. Jason
High price for decent food. Shame the service is not up to the same level. Slow, unprofessional, just kids being used on the cheap. Otherwise, OK.

I went here with my family when we were on a short holiday in Dumfries. We were looking for a family friendly restaurant and we found it here. The staff were brilliant, very friendly. The food was brilliant, we had the midweek madness deal which included a starter and a main meal, and 2 kids menu's. The whole meal including drinks came to just over £30 Next time I'm in Dumfries I'll be back there 😀
Been a few times over the year. It has improved since the first time. Food was nice, prices are reasonable, decor could be updated slightly. They have the natural looking pizza oven on display which is a nice touch. Staff all friendly and patient.

Very average chip shop and pizza was not great. There is better chip shops nearby I.e Palmerston cafe.
Love going here for an Italian. Fairly regular customer when we're in the area.

Went here on the 24th June 2018. There was 2 lovely members of staff working. One of the ladies was called Shannon and she was brilliant. Did not get the name of the other lady but she was lovely. The food was very nice and the place itself was bright and airy. I will go back there when I next visit Scotland.
Its basically a pub club hybrid. Fantastic interior. Great for a meal or a night out has a function room for your hen/stag dos. Brilliant doorstaff. Overall the best place in dumfries

Should I have given 5 stars? Should I? Mmmm... No. And I'll tell you why. But first the good bits. My steak was delicious. The potatoes and vegetables too. My co-diners loved theirs. In fact I must have liked it because that's the second tone I've been in three weeks. Puddings too: very likeable. Wine was good. So what's with the not 5 stars thing? Well it was just that likeable thing. I did. Like it. I'll go again. I won't rush back. I won't insist we eat there next weekend. And that's why it's not got 5 stars. I have to be straining at the leash to go back for it to be 5 stars. But 4 stars is good. I'd recommend you try it. It might not light your blue touch paper, but I'd be very surprised if you don't........ like it

Fantastic food, great service by the two ladies, food came very quickly and was piping hot. Will definitely be back as can't fault food or service. Will only say that the decor could do with a facelift but that's all I can fault it on.
Very good food owner is extremely helpful and welcoming

Fast, friendly service, good value for quality produce. Great stop for a quick lunch. Only real downside is that they regularly run out of key ingredients, particularly hot things such as the meatball marinara. My last 3 visits, I have been told that I cannot have either subs of the day or meatballs when I have ordered which can be disappointing, however cannot be helped. Seating is available, however limited and not wheelchair friendly. But this is only due to the size of the property and the space available. But I would definitely recommend this as a place to take away from.
Great place to eat lunch, helpfull staffbut one problem is that their soft drink machine keeps breaking. Other than that i would recommend it. ☺
